Kingsoft Office 2007 offers flexible on-line upgrades and update, to improve the quality of the software to meet the increasing needs of the customers. Do the following to update:

  1. Click Start/All Programs/Kingsoft Office 2007/Kingsoft Office Tools/Update on-line.

  2. Select the Help menu, then click Update online.

  3. Click here to be taken to the download page, in order download the update patch online.

Kingsoft Office 2007 is compatible with the mainstream operating systems, like Windows98, Windows98se, WindowsME, Windows2000 Professional/server, WindowsXP Home/Professional, Linux and Vista.

plus image Does Kingsoft Office support exporting to PDF?

PDF format has become a general format for sharing and transmitting network files. To adapt to the increasing need of saving as PDF, Kingsoft Office 2007 offers the function of Exporting to PDF.

plus image Does Kingsoft Office 2007 come in multiple language versions?

At present, Kingsoft Office 2007 has three language versions, including Chinese, Japanese and English versions. The Chinese and Japanese versions have just been released in China and Japan.

plus image How do you search backup files?

Select Viewï½?lt;em>Task Window or press Ctrl+F1 image, then select Backup Management from the drop-down list in the task window. Click Browse at the bottom of the task pane to open the Backup folder, which comprises all the backup files.

plus image Does Kingsoft Office have Autosave?

At present, Kingsoft Office 2007 offers two kinds of Autosave.

  1. Backup when an incorrect operation as been done

    When editing a document Kingsoft Office 2007 will check any modified documents and save them when windows closes the program due to program error or program/windows updates. Kingsoft Office will save these files in the backup folder and the next time you start the program these file will be visible in the backup management task pane.

  2. Backing up files before saving

    When saving a file, Kingsoft Office 2007 will check whether this file exists on the disk. If it does, Kingsoft Office 2007 will copy the file on the disk to the backup folder, it then modifies your file. If the file is saved on the disk successfully, Kingsoft will delete the file in the backup folder. If it failed in saving the file on the disk, it will copy the file in the backup folder to the original place and delete the file under backup folder.

Select View/ Document Switch Mode, there are two options in the submenu, Document Tab and Taskbar.

plus image Are there Macros in Kingsoft Office 2007?

Kingsoft Office 2007 excludes the VBA development environment. However, if you have VBA installed, then you can use VBA to edit and run macros. You can also use an development environment like VB. If you are able to install VBA then you can use all the features of the development application.

Click File menu, and select Page Setup, click the Layout tab, and then select the Different first page checkbox.

Position the cursor at the end of the first section. Click the Insert menu, then select Break, select Next Page Section Break. Then position the cursor at the header of the second section, click Link to Previous button on the Header and Footer toolbar.

Click Edit/Replace. In the popup dialogue, enter "^m" in the Find what box, then click Replace All.

  1. Shortcut key: Select the text that you want to set as superscript, press Ctrl+shift+= short cut key image select the text that you want to set as subscript, press Ctrl+= short cut key image

  2. Toolbar: Select the text, click the Supersrcipt image or supscript Image on the Formatting toolbar.

  3. Format Painter: Select the existing superscript or subscript, then click Format Painter button brush Image for printer, then drag the mouse where you want to set superscript or subscript.

First you need to make sure you have already made titles at different levels of your document. Then Click Insert/Reference/Table of Contents. Then make the relative settings in the popup dialogue, then click OK.

plus image How to convert uppercase to lowercase?

Click the Format menu, then select Convert Case. In the popup Convert Case dialogue, select lowercase, and then click OK.

plus image How to wrap text around pictures and images?

First select the picture, then click the right mouse botton. In the popup shortcut menu, select Format Object. In the popup dialogue box, click the Layout tab. Then you are able to set the wrapping effects you want, for example In line with text, Behind text, Square, etc.

plus image How to change the text direction?

Click the Multiline Text button Multiline text image on the Drawing toolbar. Enter the text you need in the textbox, then use the rotation handle at the top of the textbox to change the direction of the text.

plus image What is the difference between "Don't print hidden text" and "Print space of hidden text"?

Don't print hidden text means the hidden text is invisible in the print preview, and the following text will replace the space of the hidden text. Print space of hidden text means the hidden text will not be displayed in the print preview and will not affect the typesetting. For instance, if you do not want to print the anwsers to a quiz but wanted the space for the anwser, you would use Print space of hidden text.

plus image As I edit my document my new text is over writing my other text. how do I solve this problem?

This is because you have started the Overwrite mode. To solve this problem, you just need to press Insert key on the keyboard, then the Overwrite mode changes to Insert mode.

plus image What do I do if I can't insert a Microsoft Word file to Kingsoft Writer?

Select Start/Program/Kingsoft Office 2007/Kingsoft Office Tools/Configuration tools. Then click the Advanced button in the popup dialogue, click the File Association tab, and then deselect the checkbox Microsoft Word Documents.

There are three ways to do this:

  1. Shortcut key:Press Alt+Enter to go to the next line in a cell.

  2. Toolbar: Click the Wrap Text button wrap text image on the Formatting toolbar.

  3. Dialogue: In the Format Cells dialogue, click Alignment tab, and then select the check box Wrap text.

Kingsoft Spreadsheets offers an easily folded or unfolded formula box. When there is too much text in the box, you can click the fold button at the bottom of the formula box. Please refer to the following picture:

Select the cells that need to be hidden, and click Format/ Conditional Cell Formatting. Select Formula Is in the first drop-down list, then enter "=ISERROR(the cell)". Click the Format button, and select one format. Make the color of the text the same as the background, and then click OK.

plus image How do I put repetitive data in to other cells?

If the cells contain non-continuous data, hold down Ctrl and select all the cells. Enter the information in the first cell and then press Enter.

plus image How do I edit a cell?

Use the direction keys on the keyboard to select the cell and press F2. Editing mode has now been selected, and the cursor is positioned at the end of the cell. You can now enter the data

plus image How do I select a range of cells if the cell range exceeds the display range of the screen?

First, enter the code name of the starting cell in the Name Box (the box to the left of the formula box) , for instance, A1. Then enter the code name of the last cell within the range, for instance, M45. Use ":" to separate the two code names, then press Enter. The whole range will be selected. Please refer to the following screenshot:

plus image How do I enter a fraction?

If you want to enter 2 fifth (2/5). You can press 0 first, then press Enter, then enter "2/5". Then press Enter, and the fraction will be entered.

plus image How do I add a measurement unit to a value?

Select the cells that you need to add the measurement units to, then click Format/Cells. In the popup dialogue, click the Number tab, then select Custom under Category. Then select the suitable number format in the list box under Type, for instance "0.00". Then enter a unit in the textbox under Type, for instance, "dollar", then click OK.

plus image How do I remove the 0 value from of the sheet?

Click the Tools menu and select Settings. In the popup dialogue, select the View tab, then deselect the Zero values checkbox under the Window options, and then click OK.

plus image How do I convert a value from text format to number format?

There are three ways to convert formats:

  1. Click the Tools menu, then select Convert Text to Number.

  2. Click the Format menu, then select Cells. In the Format Cells dialogue, select Number under Category.

  3. Paste Special. Enter "1" in another cell, please make sure it's number format, then copy this cell. Select the destination cell and select Paste Special in the Edit menu. Then in the Paste Special dialogue, please select Multiply or Divide under Operation.

plus image How do I make the same picture appear on each slide?

The best way is to put the picture in a master slide, then you just need one operation. Click View/Master, then select Slide Master. In the master view, position the picture in the right place and then close the master view. Then this picture will appear on all the slides, including the newly inserted ones.

plus image How do I insert a FLASH animation?

Kingsoft Presentation offers a quick way to insert flash. You just need to select Insert/Flash, and then insert the file you need in the popup dialogue.

plus image How do I insert background music?

Kingsoft Presentation offers a quick way to insert background music. You can select Insert/Movies and Sounds/Sound.

plus image Can Kingsoft Presentation do a multiscreen show?

Yes. If your computer supports two monitors. When you are making a presentation through Kingsoft Presentation, then you are able to browse the text in Normal View in the primary monitor. Meanwhile, you are able to show this presentation in full screen mode on the secondly monitor.

Press F5 or select Slide Show/Play to show the presentation. In Image 1, select Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. Then you are able to enter the Double-screen show mode. If you didn't set this setting, when you click Play, then the dialogue in Image 2 will appear. Then you need to select Use the extended mode different from that of the audience. After that, you can start the double-screen show by clicking Play. If you are going to use Double-screen show mode from now on, you can select the check box Use the selected playing mode next time by default.

plus image How do I control the timing of a slide show slide?

You can set the time to control the slide transition by pressing Ctrl+F1 to popup the task pane, then click Slide Transition in the drop-down list. In the Slide Transition pane, you can set the time of the slide transition. Please refer to the following screenshot:

plus image Can the slides and notes be printed together?

Yes. Click File/Print, and then select Notes Pages under Print what in the Print dialogue.
